Hyderabad: Educational institutions across Telangana state, which had closed on March 22, 2020, due to Covid-19 pandemic, have reopened. Regular classes have commenced for classes 9,10 and above.

Vigour and laughter have returned to the school premises as students arrived after a long break of ten months. The students were delighted to come to school, meet their friends and teacher after prolonged confinement in their homes. Most of them were dropped by their parents.

Online classes would continue for Classes one to eight. There is also plan to commence classes for Standard 6 to 8 on February 15. The Government also hopes to promote primary class students directly without classes or examination.

The Department of Education has made it clear that online teaching would continue even if educational institutions are opened. Sources also said that there would be no minimum attendance required to write exams this year.

Telangana Education Department has issued special guidelines for the management of classrooms. As per the Covid protocol, only 20 students would be permitted to sit in a classroom, maintaining physical distance.

It is mandatory that students should wear mask, undergo thermal screening and should be permitted by parents to sit in classroom. Two separate isolation rooms have been set up in educational institutions for students with Covid symptoms. Authorities are advised with guidelines and precautions to be followed if anyone report Covid symptoms.
