Hyderabad: A protest meeting of opposition leaders in the state capital on Saturday turned ugly as senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao scuffled with the tribal leader Gajjala Nagesh on the stage resulting into a melee at the venue in Domalguda.
Congress party leader got tangled with Nagesh as a heated argument broke out between them for Rao wanted tribal leader to leave the chair he was sitting on. However, reluctant Nagesh was not willing to listen to the Congress leader and a heated debate brewed up between them. As the argument further intensified, Rao pushed Nagesh behind resulting into the latter falling down on the floor.
Soon, Nagesh got up and caught hold of Rao again pulling him down on the floor. As the scene turned murkier opposition leaders belonging to TDP, CPI, TJS and other parties immediately got into action and separated the embattled duo. However, much damage was done by that time as Rao-Nagesh tangle overshadowed the opposition rally.
The protest meeting was called by the Congress and other parties at Indira park to demand justice for students who committed suicide over alleged incompetence and evaluation inconsistencies of Telangana Intermediate Board result announced recently for 11th and 12th standards.
