Telangana: Rachakonda police welcome back COVID-19 warriors

Rachakonda police welcomed back seven of its officials who recovered from coronavirus and returned to the duty on Monday. They were welcomed by the police band amidst applause by senior police officers. They expressed their gratitude to Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat.

Hyderabad: Seven police officials of the Rachakonda police, who recovered from coronavirus, returned to duty with their colleagues organising a grand welcome to the 'Corona Conquerors' here on Monday.

The brave-hearts included Sudheer Krishna Inspector (Balapur), Sreedevi, Inspector (Communications), Raju, Assistant Sub-inspector, Anil Kumar, Armed Reserve head constable, Shaik Maulana, constable from Yadagirigutta and Ganesh and Sandeep, both police constables from Malkajgiri and Medipally. They were welcomed by the police band amidst applause by senior police officers.

Each of them shared their experiences, describing the process of recovery and about coping with the stress of being detected with COVID-19, the confidence given by the team of doctors, their colleagues at the office and their officers.

They expressed their gratitude to Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat for calling each of them personally and instilling confidence and for ensuring the best treatment possible.

They said that their families were also happy for the gesture of sending immunity building vitamins, dry fruits and medicine kits even after discharge from hospital or isolation.

They stressed on the importance of building immunity through proper diet, medicines, home remedies like steaming, warm water gargling and being mentally strong.

Bhagwat said that all the officers were mentally strong and had created their own destiny with the support of their families and with a strong will power to overcome the disease.

He stated that in a similar manner, other officers who were now undergoing treatment would also emerge victorious in the fight against COVID-19.

"The Rachakonda Police conducted a medical examination of officers with comorbidities and 20 of them have been given rest. I urge people to practice yoga and meditation apart from drinking warm water and eating fresh food. Please consult medical teams as soon as there are symptoms," the Commissioner said.

He further stated that there would be strict implementation of the Disaster Management Act for not wearing masks and not maintaining physical distancing.
