Man burns brother to death over property dispute in Telangana's Warangal

Sridhar, a resident of the Karimabad Ursu area of ​​Warangal city, attacked his younger brother Srikanth when the latter came with buyers to sell his share of the ancestral house. The buyers ran away from the scene and Srikanth was burnt to death in front of the neighbours while the assailant fled the scene with family members.

Warangal (Telangana) : In a disturbing property dispute, an elder brother poured petrol on his younger brother and burnt him to death. When the victim tried to escape, the elder brother stoned him in front of everyone. Even though he beat his younger brother for almost three hours, no one stopped the crime. Even the police were not informed. The elder brother was unwilling to sell his share of the ancestral house, sources said.

The incident took place in the Karimabad Ursu area of ​​Warangal City. According to the police report of the deceased's wife. Govindula Srinivas, Sridhar and Srikanth are three brothers from the 40 Division Ursu Tallamanduva area. All three shared the space of the parent's house at the rate of 94.16 yards. Eldest son Srinivas passed away. Brother Sridhar quarrelled over the share of younger brother Srikanth.

With this, Srikanth left Warangal and went to Nizamabad with his mother for a living. In 2019, he fell in love with a girl there and got married. After Corona, he wanted to get medical treatment with the proceeds from selling his house plot due to health problems. To this extent, Srikanth came to Karimabad Ursu and tried to sell his share. His brother Sridhar threatened as usual.

Srikanth filed a complaint against his brother at Mills Colony police station on the 7th of this month. When the police called Sridhar to the station and counselled him, he admitted to the police that he had no objection to selling his brother's land. Thinking that there is no problem even if the land is sold, Srikanth along with his wife came to Warangal and stayed at the house of relatives. On Saturday, when Srikanth went to the place with two buyers as usual, Sridhar who came from behind attacked Srikanth. As a result, those who came to see the place ran away.

Later, he took Srikanth inside the house, injured him, poured petrol on him and set him on fire. He placed a rock at the door to prevent him from leaving the house. Locals said that when Srikanth somehow came out of the house, he was stoned to death in the bazaar in front of everyone.

Although Srikanth was beaten from 4 pm to 7 pm, none of the locals informed the police. Sridhar along with his wife and children ran away from home. ACP Bonala Kishan, Mills Colony CI Srinivas reached the spot and started an investigation. According to the CI, a case was registered on the complaint of Rani, the wife of the deceased.
