1. Delhi HC to hear online open book exam plea today

The Delhi High Court will hear today the petition seeking cancellation of the online open-book examination. Earlier on June 27, the Delhi University postponed the open book exams for final year students, scheduled to begin from July 1, by 10 days in view of COVID-19 situation.

2. Delhi violence: HC to hear plea today on extension time for charge sheet filing

Delhi High court is scheduled to hear a petition challenging the grant of two more months time to file a charge sheet in the conspiracy of north-east Delhi violence. In February, clashes had broken out in northeast Delhi between the groups supporting and opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). At least 53 people lost their lives in the violence and hundreds of others were injured.

3. HRD minister to hold virtual rally today in Uttarakhand

Union Human Resource Development Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will hold a virtual rally today for Ramnagar assembly in Uttarakhand.

4. Maratha quota hearing in Supreme Court today

The apex court will hear a petition on the move to provide reservations in education and jobs to the Maratha community. The Maratha reservation bill has been passed in the Maharashtra Legislature unanimously and the state government will defend its stand in the apex court. On November 30, 2018, the Maharashtra legislative assembly passed the Maratha reservation bill providing 16 per cent reservation to Maratha community in education and government jobs under Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC) category.
