Hyderabad: During the holy month of Ramadan, Hyderabad police have beefed up the security around the 400-year-old Mecca Masjid to ensure safety to over one lakh visitors who come to offer Namaz.
"Scores of people visit the old city and Mecca Masjid during the time of Ramadan. Police have made adequate arrangements to divert the traffic. Special teams have also been deployed to ensure safety. The surrounding area of the mosque will be properly guarded. More than 40 CCTV cameras have been installed," said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Amber Kishore Jha.
"This Ramadan all the arrangements have been made in the mosque. More than one lakh people will visit the mosque to offer Namaz every day," Head of Mecca Masjid, Hafez Mohammed said.
