Hyd youth dies after being thrashed for staring at man's girlfriend

A 23-year-old man died on Saturday while undergoing treatment after being thrashed by a youth on Necklace Road for staring at his girlfriend. The incident took place on June 13.

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old man, identified as Sai, died on Saturday in the hospital, days after being trashed by a man for staring at his girlfriend on Necklace Road in Hyderabad.

According to the Ramgopalet police, on June 13, Sai and his friends went to Tank Bund to celebrate a birthday.

While they were returning to their homes after the celebration, they saw a couple on the Necklace Road. As they were staring at them, the boyfriend, identified as Junaid began abusing the three friends.

Later, Junaid hit Sai with a stone, which lead to a head injury. The police reached the spot after receiving a complaint and shifted Sai to the local hospital.

Sai was shifted to Osmania General Hospital and succumbed to his injuries today.

A case was registered under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code. The accused, Junaid, is a history-sheeter from Miryalguda and has 16 criminal cases against him, police said.
