Hyderabad: Nearly 50 government ambulances were gutted down after a fire broke out at GVK-EMRI parking near Shamirpet area of Hyderabad on Monday afternoon.
"At 1 pm today, we received an information about the fire at GVK EMRI parking lot. Around 50 govt ambulance vehicles which were not in use were gutted in the fire. Fire tenders were called in and after some time we put out the flame. The probe is underway," said Specialist firearms officer, Subhash Reddy.
According to the sources, the ambulances were mostly old and parked in an open space.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
An investigation has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the fire.
