Hyd rape-murder case: 4 accused sent to 14 days judicial custody
Hyderabad: A magistrate in Telangana's Shadnagar town has sent all four accused, in the gruesome gangrape and murder of a woman veterinarian, to judicial custody for 14 days.
The accused have been identified as Mohammed Arif, Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu, both lorry drivers and Jollu Shiva and Jollu Naveen, both lorry cleaners.
Mandal Executive Magistrate passed the order at Shadnagar police station as the accused could not be produced in fast-track court at Mahabubnagar due to the non-availability of the judge and also because of the tense situation prevailing outside the police station.
The accused are likely to be shifted to Mahabubnagar jail.
Earlier, three doctors of a government hospital were also brought to the police station as the angry protests by citizens in front of the police station demanding death for the accused created tension.
After repeated requests, the officials failed to pacify the crowd and the police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the protestors.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan visited the house of the slain veterinary doctor and consoled the bereaved family.
