Hyderabad: The Gandhi Hospital here in Telangana is the only public-sector hospital which is providing proper treatment to coronavirus patients, while other hospitals are working as support system.
The patients with mild symptoms for Covid-19 are not admitted to Gandhi Hospital. They are raising concerns as they are facing breathing issues even if they are having mild symptoms.
Reportedly, other government hospital are referring patients to Gandhi hospital for the COVID-19 treatment.
Though Gandhi hospital is providing proper medication and testing facilities but with the increase in number of positive cases in the state the patients are facing difficulties in getting proper treatment at right time.
“We are providing emergency medical care, to whoever comes here with severe symptoms. The patients having mild symptoms are preferred to home quarantine,” Dr. Rajarao, Gandhi Hospital.
Gandhi hospital is admitting people who are having serious health issues while other hospital after getting the test report positive are referring patients to COVID-19 designated hospital.
Gandhi hospital has been designated as a full-fledged COVID-19 hospital in the state by the government such that it can cater around 2000 patients at a time and accordingly, all the requisite arrangements have also been made fruitfully.
The government has also made arrangements in the other small and large hospitals so that they can provide treatment to the corona-infected patients in the state.
It has been further directed that emergency treatment should be provided King-Koti, Fever & Chest hospitals.
“The suspected are being admitted and medical attention is being provided immediately. The patients are referred to Gandhi hospital after their corona report is positive. In the meantime, oxygen is provided if needed,” Dr Mahaboob Khan, Chest hospital.
Some of the beds have provision of attached oxygen cylinder for patients in these hospitals. Each of these hospitals has around 250 to 400 beds per hospital.
COVID-19 hospitals in Hyderabad:
NIMS: Coronavirus treatment and service is offered only to doctors and medical staff. Coronavirus patients are not being treated in the hospital.
Osmania hospital: 60 beds are allotted in the hospital for patients having low or mild symptoms.
TIMS: The medical services officially started a week ago at TIMS in Gachibowli. They are still unable to serve at full capacity while 1500 to 1200 beds are ready for coronavirus patients.
Ayurveda, NatureCure, Sarojini Devi Hospitals: The isolation Centre includes people with general symptoms. A patient must be tested positive and should have PHC and UHC letter of recommendation to quarantine in isolation centres.
Chest, Fever, King-Koti Hospitals: The Chest Hospital has a set up 250 beds and is full of suspected positive patients. Those who are tested positive are referred to Gandhi hospital with immediate effect.
