Hyderabad: A young job seeker from Secunderabad was cheated of Rs 96 thousand by some online fraudster after they promised to get him registered on a job portal.
"They called the victim over phone and convinced him to fill an online form which included the use of one time password. Right after the man filled up the form, he lost Rs 96 thousand. He then lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police," a cop said.
According to the reports, the man had applied for a job online a few years ago besides uploading his profile on the naukri.com site. He had also paid registration fees but there was response from the recruiter's end.
However, on September 16 he received a call from an unknown number where a man claiming to be the representative of the site asked him to get himself registered again. After providing him a link to fill up the form he also promised him that the registration amount will be refunded soon.
