Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today participated in the event of Telangana Liberation Day conducted by the BJP in the Nirmal district of the state. Amit Shah conveyed his best wishes to the people of Telangana on the liberation day. He also took a swipe at Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, saying that he fears celebrating Telangana Liberation Day. The Home Minister has promised that the state would be celebrating the occasion in a big way if BJP comes to power.

He added that Telangana got freedom because of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's decisiveness. The state got freedom after 13 months of India's independence. 17 September is Telangana Liberation Day. On this day in the year 1948, Telangana gained freedom from Nizam's rule. During the Telangana Liberation Day celebration in Nirmal district, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, BJP State President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, former Telangana minister Etela Rajender and several BJP leaders also participated.
