Hyderabad (Telangana): Telangana on Monday recorded 591 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 6,45,997, while the toll rose to 3,807 with two more fatalities. Karimnagar district accounted for the most number of cases with 75, followed by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (68) and Khammam district (58), a state government bulletin said, providing details as of 5.30 pm today. The number of recoveries outnumbered fresh cases with 643 people recuperating from the disease, taking the cumulative number to 6,33,371, a health department bulletin said, providing details as of 5.30 pm today.
The number of active cases stood at 8,819. It said 1,07,472 samples tested on Monday took the total number of specimens examined so far to 2,21,97,450. The samples tested per million population was 5,96,385. The case fatality rate in the state was 0.58 per cent, while it was 1.3 per cent at the national level. The recovery rate in Telangana was 98.04 per cent, while it was 97.33 per cent in the country, the bulletin said.
