3-yr-old who fell into borewell in Telangana dies

A three-year-old child who accidentally fell into an open borewell in Telangana's Medak district, reportedly died on Thursday

Hyderabad (Telangana): A three-year-old child who accidentally fell into an open borewell in Telangana's Medak district, reportedly died on Thursday.

Earlier yesterday, the boy, Sanjay Saivardhan,, accidentally fell into the uncapped borewell in an agriculture field in Podichanpally village in Papannapet mandal of the district.

Police and fire fighting personnel rushed to the scene to launch a rescue operation, but were not able to save the boy, who reportedly died of asphyxiation.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel had dug a parallel trench to pull out the child.

According to police, a farmer Goverdhan dug a borewell in his agriculture field. As the borewell failed, he left it and got busy with other work.

Medak collector, Dharma Reddy said that the biggest punishment for the owner for leaving a borewell open is that he lost his own grandchild.

His family members were also present in the field. His son Sai Vardhan who was standing near the borewell accidentally fell into it. The 120-feet borewell was left uncapped which led to the incident.
