Youth commits suicide after facing rejection by lover on social media in Tamil Nadu

A 23-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself in his relative's house after facing rejection by his unknown lover on Instagram. The police are investigating the matter and are inquiring whether the person Anand Kumar loved is a woman or man.

Tiruchirappalli: A 23-year-old man committed suicide after facing rejection from his unseen lover on Instagram.

Anand Kumar was working in Tamil Nadu's Salem in a private bank as an ATM cash filling worker. He was stuck in his relative's house in Tiruchirappalli two months before the lockdown was announced.

Anand Kumar fell in love with a woman on Instagram whom he never saw.

Kumar was heartbroken after she rejected his love and closed her Instagram account.

Unable to face the rejection, Kumar committed suicide by hanging himself in his relative's house itself.

On receiving the information, Thiruverumbur Inspector Gnanavelan reached the spot along with his team.

Kumar's body was sent to Thuvakudi Govt Hospital for postmortem, he said.

The police are investigating the matter and are inquiring whether the person Anandkumar loved is a woman or man.
