Coimbatore: Jayamohan, a 30-year-old doctor, a native of Sirumugai, a village in Coimbatore who was serving in the primary health centre in Thengumarahada, a tribal village, in Nilgiris district was admitted to a private hospital a few days ago following high fever.
He had, reportedly, undergone coronavirus test which came in negative. However, it was revealed that Jayamohan had been suffering from dengue.
As the illness turned serious, he died of dengue in a private hospital in Coimbatore. Meanwhile, due to corona scare, his body was not allowed to be cremated in his hometown.

Jayamohan was popular among the people in the tribal villages of Nilgiris as he performed free medical and social work in those places.
On hearing the news of his son's death, mother of Jayamohan made a suicide attempt. She is currently admitted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
