Chennai: Police have disclosed that VJ Chitra's death was caused due to pressure from her husband Hemanth and her mother.
Popular TV Actress Chitra had died after committing suicide on Wednesday. Her body was taken to Chennai Kilpauk Hospital for Post-mortem after which the suicide was confirmed amidst the suspicion of the actress being killed by her husband Hemanth. Prior to the declaration of suicide, Hemanth disclosed to Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) that he had registered his marriage with Chitra two months before.
For the past two days, the police were probing this case and were investigating Hemanth. On Friday the police stated that Hemanth pressurised Chitra frequently after drinking, at her shooting spot. Chitra has spoken about his behaviour to her mother, who had insisted Chitra leave Hemanth.
The Police have sent the phone of deceased to the cyber department to get further details on reasons behind the death.
