Krishnagiri: In a bizarre incident, a mother in the Krishnagiri district here tortured her three-year-old daughter by pouring alcohol into her mouth.
The incident took place on Tuesday when mother Nandini and her lover Ashok were having drinks at her residence.
It was after a few drinks that Nandini began hurling abuses at her daughter. A few minutes of shouting, she resorted to beating her daughter and pouring alcohol into her mouth.
Hearing the screams of the scared child, neighbours rushed into the house to rescue her.
The daughter was admitted to the Krishnagiri government hospital by the neighbours.
Several injuries were found on the girl's body after which a complaint was lodged against the mother with the local police.
A resident of Hosur, Nandini had been married to Maadesh for the last six years. But due to personal differences, they got separated.
Nandini had been living separately with her daughter ever since.
