TN techies develop oxygen producing machine

Two young techies from Ranipet district in Tamil Nadu have developed oxygen producing machine at the cost of Rs 40,000 utilising indigenous materials. The machine has the capacity to produce 10 litres of oxygen per minute.

Ranipet (Tamil nadu): While hospitals have been struggling with oxygen shortage, two youths from Ranipet district in Tamil Nadu have developed low-cost oxygen producing machines. As a solace to the Covid patients who gasp for breath, the youngsters' efforts would do away with the hefty charges paid for imported oxygen.

Technically skilled space engineers Naresh and Anish Mathew want to resolve the crisis of oxygen shortage in the district.

Utilising domestic materials, the duo have come up with a machine that would produce oxygen at the rate of 10 litres per minute. The import value of the machine which was developed at the cost of Rs 40,000 would be Rs 1.25 lakh. 21 percent of oxygen in the air is compressed using a compressor with a chemical called zeo light.

The young developers met Ranipet District Collector Gladson Pushparaj personally to elaborate about the machine and requested him to extend its usage to the public. Pushparaj lauded their efforts and promised to take appropriate steps to bring it to the notice of the people.

Hailing from the Arakkonam Kurinjinagar area, they have been involved in social service during the curfew on behalf of the Indian Congress Student Corps. They are working as space engineers in Bangalore.
