Chennai: Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister Anitha R Radhakrishnan courted controversy, as he was caught on camera being carried by fishermen to save his slippers from getting wet. The video has become viral on social media and the minister faced severe backlash over the charges of VIP culture.
The incident happened during the visit to Palaverkadu in Thiruvallur district to investigate the sea erosion in the area. He took a boat ride along with the area fishermen. When the boat neared the shore, the minister was hesitant to get his shoes in the seawater. Seeing that, fishermen voluntarily carried the minister on his shoulder till they reach the dry land.
