Chennai: In a gruesome incident, a 45-year old man allegedly hacked his 19-year old daughter who got married against his wish, in Alangulam near Tenkasi. Police have arrested accused Marimuthu.
Deceased identified as Shalom Sheeba, (19), a resident of South Kavalakurichi village, near Alangulam got married to Muthuraj, (22), six months ago. Their two-year relationship was refuted by her family, as per sources.

Police said Sheeba has not visited her family since her marriage though she lived in the next street. "On Sunday, Sheeba decided to visit her family after attending a festival at church. Sheeba and Marimuthu had a wordy duel on her arrival. In a fit of rage, Marimuthu hacked her multiple times and left. Grievously injured, Sheeba was being treated at Tenkasi GH where she succumbed not responding to treatment on Wednesday night", police said.
Police who had registered a case of bodily injuries altered the charges to murder, and have arrested Marimuthu.
