Villupuram: A schoolgirl was attacked by a youth in bright hours of the day. The incident took place in Valavanur village in Villupuram District. A CCTV footage of the same has surfaced on the internet and is going viral.
The girl is seen running away from the youth and tries to evade by hiding behind a Tempo Traveler. Then, the youth trails fast behind her and attacks her furiously. In a few seconds, the girl and the attacker walk away in different directions.
The video ends with one of the villagers in the scene warning the youth. The villagers have filed a complaint with the police against the youth with the footage as evidence. They have also requested the police to make frequent patrols in the village.
In a firm step to stop eve teasing against schoolgirls, the Valavanur villagers had got CCTV cameras installed in the streets.
