Chennai: In a twist to the Sowcarpet triple murder case, the man accused of sexually harassing the prime suspect has committed suicide.
Jayamala, the daughter-in-law of the same family, and six others were arrested in connection with the death of three members of the same family in Sowcarpet, Chennai. A retired army official who helped the accused with a car and gun was also arrested in this regard.
Following that, Jayamala, arrested for conspiring the murder of her husband & in-laws told the police that Vijayakumar (nephew of her deceased husband Sheethal) had sexually assaulted her. Following the new development, Vijayakumar leapt off from the 5th floor of his residence and ended his life.
RK Nagar police have registered a case in this regard and have also found a recorded video confession from his cell phone now. In the video, Vijayakumar confessed that he was in grief because of the loss of his family members and was also distressed because of the police, who often interrogated him and his cousin Hemant without investigating the six people who killed the family.

He sought help from the Jain community through this video and also mentioned that he and his family were in fear of police interrogation and were in the greatest agony. He also stated that he would write a will to his brother Ramesh and uncle's son Mahaveer after his death. He further claimed that the charges against him were completely false.
The police handed over Vijayakumar's body to Stanley Hospital for an autopsy later. It is noteworthy that all these murders and suicide revolve around Talil Chand family's crores worth of property.
