Sivasankar Baba child abuse case: CBCID to issue lookout notice

The Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Division (CBCID) has planned to issue a lookout circular against the Sushil Hari School founder Sivasankar Baba to prevent him from fleeing to a foreign country. It comes after scores of complaints surfaced online after the alumni of the school revealed the innuendos and sexcapades of the school founder.

Chennai: As investigations into the alleged child sex abuse by Sushil Hari School founder Sivasankar Baba widens, the Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Division (CBCID) has planned to issue a lookout circular against the accused so as to prevent him from fleeing to a foreign country. A special team led by DSP rank officer has rushed to Dehradun where he was believed to be holed up.

Scores of complaints surfaced online after the alumni of the school revealed the innuendos and sexcapades of the school founder. Jurisdictional Mahabalipuram Police has received three complaints and cases have been registered against the same under various provisions of IPC as well as special laws including the POCSO Act. Earlier on Sunday, Tamil Nadu DGP JK Tripathy has issued orders transferring the probe to the CBCID.

"We are trying to triangulate the location of the accused using tower dump data. We have also taken steps to issue a lookout circular through the CBI in order to prevent the suspect from fleeing the country. One team has been carrying out spot investigation at the school premises gathering evidence while another is involved in recording the statements of witnesses and complainants", an official privy to the investigation said.

It has emerged that the suspect has harassed the students through video calls. To make this stick, the police have planned to screen the devices including his laptop, mobile phones among others.
