Kanpur: A school bus caught fire on Wednesday allegedly due to a short circuit in the engine while descending to school in the morning in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajpur area.
Smoke emanated from the engine of the bus after which the alert driver, Ehtisham Haider as a precautionary measure stopped the bus after a sudden fire broke out in the bonnet and with the help of the locals rescued the children. No one sustained any injuries.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused.
The children were sent to school on time and the bus was parked at the Police station in Kulgaon.
