Chennai: The shoot of Big Boss Malayalam at EVP film city in Chennai was stopped by revenue officials. The crackdown came after the crew of the programme continued filming despite a ban on film and television shoots amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Last week, six workers in the set had tested positive for Covid-19. Based on curfew violation charges, Big Boss set was sealed and workers were evacuated. As per Covid-19 protocol, all of them were isolated.

Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) chief RK Selvamani had announced that shooting activity in the state would be halted till May 31.
