One kilo gold found under Indigo airplane seat

One kilo gold worth Rs 50 lakhs was found under Indigo aeroplane seat after it arrived at Chennai International Airport on Thursday morning. The Customs officials also found gold worth rupees 10 lakhs in a passenger's footwear.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu): An Indigo flight arrived at Chennai International Airport from Dubai on Thursday morning. After the passengers disembarked the plane, the cleaning staff started to clean the plane.

While cleaning, staff noticed a parcel hidden under a seat and informed the customs officials. The officers who came to the spot found a kilo of gold worth Rs. 50 lakh. After this, the officials checked the passengers from Dubai and found 200gms gold worth 10 lakhs in the shoes of Vivek Manokaran, a passenger hailing from Vellore.

The officials seized the gold from him and arrested him. The cops are searching for the person who hid the gold under the aeroplane seat.
