Coimbatore: A 59-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for sexually assaulting a minor girl in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore district. The girl was an inmate of a home for children which the accused ran near Sulur. She was admitted to the home as her mother reportedly had mental disorders.
The shelter home was closed four years ago and the accused had sent 20 children back to their families while he made the girl stay at his house as domestic help.
The accused allegedly assaulted the girl on multiple occasions. The incident came to light when the girl informed about it to one of her relatives over phone.

The relative informed the District Child Protection Office and police.
The man was arrested and the girl was moved to a home for children.
A case has been registered against the man and further probe is underway.
