Chennai (Tamil Nadu): Madras High Court (HC) on Wednesday dismissed former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi murder case convict Nalini's plea to release.
Earlier, the Tamil Nadu assembly passed a resolution demanding the release of Nalini and six other convicts of Rajiv Gandhi murder case which is now under the purview of the Governor.

Meanwhile, convict Nalini filed a plea in the Madras HC, in which she requested the court to direct the Tamil Nadu government to release her. On hearing the arguments from the Tamil Nadu government as well as the Centre, the court decided to dismiss Nalini's plea.
