"They have constructed a crematorium but there is no road. We have to cross the marshy land to carry corpses with great difficulty. We have submitted petitions to BDO and other officials without any avail. If the district collector looks into our plight and construct a proper road, it will be greatly beneficial," said, Eswararaj, a villager.

"The cemetery was built 5 years ago after continuous protests. Government officials have visited here and they have knowledge about these issues, still, no action has been taken," he said.

Owing to the lack of road connectivity in Kamugakudi village, those faced with a medical emergency have no other option than to carry the patients like bundles of hay. Cots are being used in this case.

The village people are undergoing a lot of struggles as they do not have road facilities for more than 15 years. Their only request to the government is to provide them with road facilities.

This illustrates how concerned authorities have decided to turn a blind eye to the villagers' demands for basic road connectivity issues.
