Kerala man moves Madras HC, seeks scientific investigation on missing Malaysian plane

A man from Kerala has moved a plea seeking a scientific investigation into a Malaysian plane which went missing five years ago in Madras High Court. The petitioner claimed that he saw a plane plunging into the ocean in Trivandrum and informed about the same to higher authorities but no actions were taken by them. The plane disappeared on 8 March 2014 with 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu): Madras High Court has listed for hearing a plea by a Kerala man seeking a scientific investigation into a Malaysian plane which went missing five years ago, on September 9.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared on 8 March 2014, after departing from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing, with 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board.

The petitioner, Biju Kumar of Tiruvananthapuram, stated that he saw a plane plunging into the ocean while he was near St Antony's church in Trivandrum. He claimed that he had passed on the message in person to the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) operated by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). However, the scientists at TERLS got back to him that they could not find anything tangible on his reporting.

Stating that he has passed on the sighting of the plane plunging into the ocean to the Office of Chief Minister Kerala, Malaysian Aviation authorities, and Malaysian Diplomatic Mission, Biju Kumar submitted that no action has been taken on it on the same for the past five years.

He has sought the Court to direct the Centre to conduct a scientific investigation into the incident and ascertain the same.
