Jaipur: With the announcement of the commencement of Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti protest from November 1, the Ashok Gehlot government has braced itself and snapped internet connectivity along with implementing National security act (Rasuka) in eight Gujjar majority districts.
On the recommendation of the District Collector, the Home Department prepared a proposal and sent it to the Chief Minister's Office on Friday, where along with the approval, the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave powers to the concerned District Collectors to put Rasuka.
After suggestions from other districts including Bharatpur District Collector, the Home Department analysed the location and chalked out eight concerned districts where Rasuka has been implemented.
District collectors of Bharatpur, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Tonk, Bundi, Jhalawar and Karauli have been conferred with the rights to enforce Rasuka as they see fitting.

With this power, if the District Collector sees any suspicious person or any matter related to national security, then the person can be arrested under this law. The arrested has to stay in jail for up to 1 year and there's no provision of bail of any kind or petition in the court.
What is Rasuka?
Rasuka i.e. National Security Act 1980, as the name suggests, provides full powers to the central and state government for the security of the state or the country. If in the state or country a person or a group threatens or put to danger the safety and security of people, then the government has full right to arrest the person or group.
Previously, during the Doctor's movement in the country, Rasuka was implemented.
