Chennai: Former Madras High Court judge Justice CS Karnan on Monday, confirmed his decision to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and has announced to file the nomination from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency - Varanasi, essentially contesting against the Prime Minister.
Justice Karnan is the first sitting judge in the country's history to be accused of contempt of court and was released from Kolkata prison on December 20' 2017, after having served a six-month prison term imposed upon him by the Supreme Court.
In May 2018, Justice Karnan launched his political party: Anti-Corruption Dynamic party, in which he planned to field women candidates in all the 543 Lok Sabha constituencies for 2019 elections.
Karnan claimed that his party is contesting the elections from 20 places and has an agenda to expose corruption from every field.
