Former HC Judge C S Karnan booked for controversial remarks

Following a complaint by lawyers of the Madras High Court, the Chennai police cyber cell booked former HC judge C.S. Karnan for his objectionable remarks on several judges of the High Court and the Supreme Court.

Chennai: Former High Court judge C S Karnan has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code by the Chennai Police cyber cell.

Recently, Karnan had released a video alleging that some of Supreme court and High court judges sexually assaulted women court staff and female judges.

Following the incident, Senior lawyers of Madras High Court wrote a letter to Chief Justice of India SA Bobde against his unacceptable and distasteful comments stating "amount to a horrific act of violence and an affront to the dignity of all women" and sought immediate action against him.

Earlier, Karnan was imprisoned for six months in 2017 after he was found guilty for contempt of the Supreme court, the judiciary and judicial process.
