Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu): The Tamil Nadu police booked the father and husband of a 17-year-old girl in Kanyakumari for forcing her into marriage.
According to reports, the girl was an undergraduate student, and her father suddenly got her married after he came to know about her love affair.
However, the girl's husband got angry and stormed out of the house after he learnt that she was still speaking to her boyfriend over the phone. The boyfriend then reportedly came to their house in a bid to take the girl away. However, the girl's in-laws informed about the matter to the Thuckalay police station.
When the cops arrived at the scene, they discovered that the girl was a minor and was forced into the marriage.
The girl was then sent to the Marthandam women's police station and a complaint was filed against her father, boyfriend, husband, and in-laws under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
