DMK MLA J. Anbazhagan tests positive for COVID-19

DMK MLA J Anbazhagan has been admitted to a hospital in Chennai after testing positive for coronavirus. The 62-year-old leader was actively engaged in DMK Chief MK Stalin's 'Ondrinaivoom Va' initiative to distribute relief material in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Chennai: DMK MLA J Anbazhagan has been admitted to a government hospital in Chennai after testing positive for coronaviurs.

As per reports, the 62-year-old leader is the first legislative member from Tamil Nadu to be tested positive for the virus.

The prominent DMK leader and Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency MLA, who had a liver transplant 25 years ago is stated to be in stable condition.

It is be noted that, he was actively engaged in DMK chief M.K. Stalin's 'Ondrinaivoom Vaa' initiative to distribute relief material in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

11 deaths were reported in the state on Wednesday of which nine patients had cormorbidities. The two other patients however did not report any comorbidities.

The Public Health department has maintained that elderly persons and those with comorbidities such as heart issues, diabetis and blood pressure are at high risk if they contract the virus.

So far, the state has discharged 14, 316 patients who have recovered from the virus.
