Coimbatore: A young couple hailing from Coimbatore mortgaged their gold ornaments to donate electric fans to the Government Medical College and ESI Hospital in Singanallur.
Hospitals are banned from using air conditioning during the pandemic.

The couple, who came to the hospital to get vaccinated, donated 100 electric fans.

The hospital authorities after knowing about the matter, asked the couple to take back the fans, but the couple remained adamant about their decision. The hospital eventually gave in after the couple reassured them that they did not have an urgent need for money. The couple also wanted to remain anonymous.
