Chennai (Tamil Nadu): BJP leader Khushbu Sundar had a narrow escape on Wednesday, as a tanker rammed into the car she was travelling in near Melmaruvathur in Tamil Nadu.
The actress-turned politician tweeted that she was safe and would continue her journey towards Cuddalore. She attached pictures of her car, which was badly damaged.

Sundar was referring to the 'Vel Yatra', which according to the BJP, was to 'expose' the DMK and other forces that had hurt the sentiments of people by denigrating the Kanda Sashti Kavacham, a spiritual hymn in praise of Lord Muruga.

The party had announced that the yatra would commence on November 6 at Tiruttani and culminate on December 6 at Tiruchendur covering all the six abodes, 'Padai Veedu' of Lord Muruga in Tamil Nadu.
The state government had banned the yatra in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
