Chennai (Tamil Nadu): A charge sheet has been filed against 47 people, including V Senthil Balaji - former AIADMK Transport Minister and present DMK candidate from the Karur constituency. Other individuals against charges were pressed include senior, retired and serving officers of various Transport Corporations.
A cheating case was filed against Balaji while he was the transport minister in the previous AIADMK government. The complaint lodged with the CBCID of Tamil Nadu police said the former minister and several others cheated 81 people to the tune of Rs.1.62, after promising jobs in the transport sector.

Based on the complaint, CCI Police had filed a case and seized various documents from Balaji's office. A case was also registered against Ganeshan, who was the director of the state transport department.
The charge sheet based on the investigation was filed by the CCI police in CCB court in Egmore, Chennai.

In the charge sheet, the police alleged that Balaji, along with other officials misused his position. It also mentioned that a list of candidates released in 2015 was not published based on the eligibility list and Balaji's assistant Shanmugam and M. Karthikeyan had obtained millions of rupees as bribe by promising jobs to aspirants.
