Trichy (Tamil Nadu): Officials of central Air Intelligence at the Trichy Airport seized 8.5 kg of gold worth Rs 4.25 crores from ten passengers.
The passengers had arrived at Trichy Airport in Indigo and Air India Express flights from Dubai. The central Air Intelligence officials searched the belongings of the passengers and discovered almost 8.5 kg of gold on the 10 passengers.

The passengers tried to smuggle the gold by concealing it on their bodies. All the 10 passengers were held for further investigation.
Earlier, Customs department at the Chennai airport seized 706 grams of gold worth 35.5 lakhs from two passengers who had arrived from Dubai.
