Kanyakumari: Kanyakumari: Four persons were killed when a car carrying members of a dance troupe from Tiruchendur to Kanyakumari collided with a bus which was coming from an opposite direction on Vellamadam in Nagercoil - Tirunelveli national highway.
Police said, "A music troupe with 12 people from Kanyakumari was returning home in a sports utility vehicle after their concert in Tirunelveli on Thursday night. When they were crossing Laayam near Vellamadam near Nagercoil around 6 am, the car collided head-on with a bus Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation(TNSTC) Town bus and the mishap occurred."
Police, fire and Rescue Services personnel arrived at the spot to rescue the survivors. While three persons were killed on the spot, one died while being taken to the hospital. Police said the driver of the car apparently dozed off which caused the fatal accident. Aralvaimozhi police registered a case in this regard.
