Chennai: Three people, including a doctor, were arrested in Chennai on Thursday on charges of selling Remdesivir illegally. A total of 17 vials were recovered from them.

Mohammad Imran Khan, a doctor practicing in West Tambaram area, purchased the Remdesivir vials from one Vignesh, a native of Thiruvannamalai for Rs 6,000 per vial and sold it in the black market for as high as Rs 20,000. Khan's friend Vijay is also an accused in the case.
Based on a tip-off, the Civil Supplies Department with the help of CID, cracked the whip on the three accused.
