Jodhpur: Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday slammed Ashok Gehlot led Rajasthan government over communal violence, rising crime and corruption.
Minister's reaction came to the fore after the communal violence in Baran recently.
"A knife attack after a minor scuffle and then the dispute turning into communal violence in a short span of time is another picture of the plight of Rajasthan. The administration should immediately overcome this violence, and prevent the atmosphere from worsening further," Shekhawat said.
"Corruption in the Gehlot government has hollowed out the government machinery. This can be gauged from the fact that within four months, five State Administrative Service officers including the District Superintendent of Police and the District Collector have been found guilty in several corruption cases," he said.
"Senior legislators of the ruling party have been demanding the Chief Minister to sack a minister of illegal mining, why no action has been taken so far on their demand. Why is the Chief Minister encouraging the corrupt people by keeping silence in this matter," he stated.
