Two men thrashed by villagers in Rajasthan on suspicion of theft

Villagers, who caught two men stealing, tied the duo to trees and beat them up. A video clip of the same has also gone viral on social media.

Nagaur: Two persons were thrashed by an angry mob on the suspicion of theft in a village in Rajasthan's Nagaur district.

A police official told media persons here that the two accused were held by villagers, who then informed the police.

She said that the duo has been arrested and a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered against them and further probe is on.

The villagers, who caught them stealing, allegedly tied the duo to trees and beat them up. A video clip of the same is also doing the rounds on the internet.

Police said the claim that villagers had beaten them before informing the police will also be probed.
