Jaipur: The Rajasthan state capital was exposed to its weak law and order system on Monday night at Jaipur's Shahpura area when a family, attacked by thieves while returning home in a car late night, had a narrow escape as the driver managed to steer away the vehicle, following alarm raised by the women members. No one was hurt as the thieves eventually ran away.
After attending a wedding in Surpura village the family was returning to Jaipur. Their car was attacked with sticks and rods by the thieves. The car's window glass was broken but the driver increased the speed and drove the vehicle away from them. Thieves kept following them with their bikes.
The driver managed to take the car to Jaipur- Delhi bypass and then women started shouting to attract public attention. This forced attackers to run away but they managed to snatch the chains and Mangalsutra of the ladies in the car.
Attackers had to run away as the guards of a showroom on Jaipur-Delhi bypass came to their rescue on hearing the cries of the women. Police was informed about the incident and the hunt was on for the criminals.
