Teenage girl alleges gang-rape in Rajasthan

Amid outrage over the rape and murder of a Dalit woman in Hathras, yet another rape case has come to the fore in Rajasthan. A teenage girl was allegedly gang-raped by three persons on September 29. The incident reportedly took place in Hanumangarh district.

Hanumangarh: In a spate of crimes against women in Congress-ruled Rajasthan, yet another rape case has come to the fore.

This time the case has been reported from Pilibanga police station limits in Hanumangarh district where a teenage girl was allegedly gang-raped by three persons on September 29.

The victim's family said that the accused raped her after threatening her of dire consequences. They also warned her not to reveal the incident to anyone.

The family also alleged that the police had refused to file FIR in the case, after which they wrote a letter to the Superintendent of Police demanding action.

They sexually assaulted her after taking her to a room. They also filmed a video of the heinous act and uploaded it on the internet, the family claimed.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Ranveer Singh Meena, Circle Officer, said that a case of rape under the relevant section of IPC has been registered against the accused and investigations are underway.

"On the basis of the girl's statement, we have lodged a case against three youths. We will take the appropriate action once the investigation is over," he added.
