Alwar: Tiger ST-16 died on Saturday in Sariska National Park in Alwar. He died a few hours after the Sariska administration tranquillized him on Saturday.
Sariska administration is alleged for being irresponsible in the matter. In their defence, Sariska administration said that after tranquillizing the tiger, he walked around for some 2 km and was given a proper dose.
Four tigers died in the last 15 months
ST-16 was the fourth tiger who died in the last 15 months. Tigress ST-5 died in February after an injury. Strongest tiger of Sariska, S-11 got caught in a trap and died in March.
Tiger ST-4 died in December after getting into a fight with ST-6. Tiger ST-6 was also injured. Since then, the Tiger ST-6 has not been seen.
Sariska administration has not confirmed his death or whereabouts.
ST-16 was brought to Sariska from Ranthambore.
Alwar and Sariska are notorious all over the country due to the death of tigers in Sariska. All the tigers in Sariska died in 2005.
In 2008, tigers were brought to Sariska from Ranthambore by the Central Government.
Experts allege that the tiger ST-16 died due to overdosage during tranquilization. Post mortem reports are awaited which will reveal the cause of death.
