Speaker should clarify authenticity of viral video: BJP

BJP MLAs will raise the issue of the worsening situation of coronavirus crisis, deteriorating law and order as well as the issue of government quarantine in the hotel. Talking about the August 14 assembly session Senior BJP leader Kataria said that so far no decision has been taken at the party level regarding the no-confidence motion against the Congress-led government.

Jaipur: Senior BJP leader Gulab Chand Kataria has said that only the Speaker should clarify about the authenticity of the viral video of the meeting between him (Joshi) and Vaibhav Gehlot.

Talking about the August 14 assembly session, he said, BJP MLAs will raise the issue of the worsening situation of coronavirus crisis, deteriorating law and order as well as the issue of government quarantine in the hotel. He also added that so far no decision has been taken at the party level regarding the no-confidence motion.

Strategy for Assembly Session:

In an exclusive interview with ETV India, Gulab Chand Kataria revealed that BJP MLAs have started formulating their strategy for the Assembly session starting from August 14.

All the MLAs, in particular, will raise the major issues of their constituency in the House through various means but the major topics will be the increasing infection of Corona, deteriorating law and order situation in the state and the Congress MLAs constantly quarantining themselves in hotels.

Kataria emphasised that issue will also be raised prominently so that the people of the state get to know how their government and the MLAs of the ruling party are enjoying in the hotel.

He also said that the BJP had already made it clear that the government should convene a session of the Legislative Assembly on a 21-day general notice so that every MLA could get a chance to ask questions related to his constituency.

The process of no-confidence motion:

On a question regarding a no-confidence motion on in the forthcoming assembly session, Kataria said that there is a whole process of bringing a no-confidence motion that can be started only after the commencement of the house.

He added that any member of the assembly can propose a no-confidence motion for which he needs the support of a certain number of MLAs, then if the speaker accepts it, the matter can be put up for discussion on any day.

However, Kataria said that no discussion or decision has been taken by the BJP in this regard at present.
