Jaipur: City-based social workers, who took up the responsibility of getting the girls of the 2008 Serial Blasts victims married, continued their noble work in the 8th marriage.
Setting an example of communal harmony, Hindu social workers bore the expenses of Neha Anjum's marriage, who lost her father Hanif Khan in 2008 serial bomb blasts.
After the deadly blasts in Jaipur, social activists had decided to bear the expenses of the marriage of all the girls who lost their family members in the blast. Till date, they have successfully completed the marriage of seven girls depicting Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, a syncretic fusion of Hindu cultural elements with Muslim religious elements.
Rajasthan BJP chief Satish Poonia also marked his presence at the wedding and blessed the couple.
Congratulating the newly-wedded couple, Poonia said, "I am happy that Neha Anjum got married today with the help of social workers. I am grateful that Ravi Nayyar, a social worker, provided his full support to Neha's family. Neha and Mohsin's wedding will send a message of peace, harmony. It shows that people should rise above caste and racial discrimination. This has set a unique example."
