Singhania oil mill sealed after adulteration charge

Alwar: Alwar administration in Rajsthan has raided the Singhania Oil Mill and sealed the factory on a complaint of adulteration on Wednesday.

Authorities have also recovered a huge quantity of Patanjali's packing materials from the factory.

The factory has been sealed over charges of manufacturing adulterated mustard oil under the banner of Patanjali.

A probe has been launched and samples of mustard oil believed to be adulterated along with other raw materials including bottles and wrappers having Patanjali's stamp, have been sent for further investigation.

The district administration swung into action after reports emerged that Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali sells the adulterated mustard oil under its brand.

District Collector Nannu Mal Pahadia formed a three-member committee under the leadership of Alwar subdivision officer Yogesh Dagur who apprised Kishangarh Bas SDO Mukut Chaudhary of the situation.

The team raided the oil mill located in the industrial area on Ismailpur Road in Khairthal on Wednesday and police have been deployed to guard the factory.

Patanjali has been facing flak over the advertisement of its mustard oil targetting the purity level of other brands which also drew negative criticism across the market.
